Synopsis
Documentary narrated by Fred Halsted (who jerks off for us, sorta – shhhh, it’s not his cock in the finale cumshot!), includes clips from early posing muscle-boys films, through the first films featuring male nudity to the hard-core films of the early/mid 70’s, (like Halsted’s L.A. Plays Itself , and Duffy’s Tavern ).
Most of the scenes listed here are just excerpts from their full length and some of them very short excerpts. Pat Rocco disputed some of the historical firsts listed in this film and one piece was changed at his request. This was one of Tom DeSimone’s favorite creations. Reviewed in Variety, August 8th, 1973.
Bruce King hated the movie in his 1973 review, and especially Fred Halsted: “I question the film’s contentions that it has presented the cream of the crop of gay movies…About Mr. Halsted, he is a drawback…with his nasal voice, giving a flat, vapid, insipid commentary.”
